Sherman Library & Gardens, further down on East Coast Highway, is mid-renovation for its 60th anniversary, and for parts of this exact season the place will lock its doors entirely.

Roger's Gardens built its reputation on turning over the entire Halloween Boutique every single year, and, as HorrorBuzz reports, 2026's theme is Moonlight Masquerade, a Venetian-inspired installation you enter beneath a recreated Bridge of Sighs before moving through several distinct rooms: a gilded vestibule, a serpent-themed soiree, a veiled gallery of seven-foot stone figures, a butterfly-filled monarch salon, and a hall of gilded bones. The design team starts hand-building the props each April, and the boutique now draws more than 100,000 visitors across September and October alone, according to the same report. The report also quotes Crystal Pfeifer, the boutique's holiday buyer and home décor lead, as saying, "every room has been designed to transport guests into another world."

The practical version for residents: it's free, it's open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, and it does not require you to buy anything, though the more than 500 curated products on display skew toward the kind of upscale décor that makes for a genuinely different browsing trip than a big-box Halloween aisle. The boutique closes October 31, and Roger's Gardens doesn't leave a gap. The Christmas Boutique opens October 2, meaning for one month the property is running both seasonal worlds side by side before Halloween fully hands off.

If you're making an evening of it, Farmhouse at Roger's Gardens sits on the same property and is currently marking its own 10th anniversary with a garden dinner event featuring live music and seasonal tasting stations, with Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County named as the evening's charitable partner. That fits the restaurant's broader habit: its weekly Swig for Selflessness cocktail program, running since 2019, has raised more than $200,000 for rotating local causes one drink at a time.

Sherman Library & Gardens: Renovation and Schedule

Sherman Library & Gardens is having a very different year. 2026 marks its 60th anniversary, and the celebration has taken the form of an active reconstruction rather than a party. A large section of the garden is currently fenced off, and the entrance itself has physically moved to the corner of Dahlia Avenue. If you've visited before and remember walking in from a different spot, that entrance no longer exists in the same place. Look for the Dahlia signage.

The bigger change for residents who treat the gardens as a dining spot: 608 Dahlia, the on-site restaurant, is not currently serving regular meals. Sherman Library & Gardens has announced a new restaurant partner for a fully reimagined farm-to-table concept, but that reopening isn't scheduled until fall 2027, over a year out. In the meantime, the garden is running occasional Hazeltine's Afternoon Tea experiences as a placeholder, not a replacement.
